New England Council for EMS, Inc. Mass Casualty and Disaster Scene Management
|
A mass casualty incident is any event where the number of patients would be the cause for inadequate patient
care in the field if the routine EMS system were to be used. This program covers written, preplanned mutual
aid agreements, multiple series of triage steps, and skills in managing subordinates. These are the core
ingredients for an effective mass casualty operation.
